IBB has lived a remarkable life at 80 – Ndoma-Egba

Former Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, has joined other eminent personalities to salute the former Military President and Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, popularly known as IBB, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Ndoma-Egba, an erstwhile Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), in a congratulatory message to the ex-Military leader, described him as a courageous officer, who was never scared to take decisions no matter how contentious they appeared to be, so long as he was convinced they were in the nation’s best interest.

The message reads: “I congratulate our former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida on his 80th birthday. We thank the Almighty for His mercies upon him.

“His has been a most remarkable life of service to Country and humanity. He was never afraid to take decisions no matter how controversial for as long as he understood them to be in the best interest of the country he fought for in the civil war. In his time he boldly took some of the most momentous decisions for our country.

“At eighty he is now officially an elder Statesman who has actively played his role in our nation’s development. We pray for God’s blessings on him and history’s fair judgment.”

IBB turned 80 on August 17, 2021. He ruled Nigeria in a military regime between 1985 and 1993
