COVID 19-Governor Mohammed approves 16th May as lockdown free for 3 LGs

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has approved Saturday 16th May 2020 as lockdown free to allow residents of Katagum, Giade and Zaki local government areas re-stock food items and other essential consumables.

This was contained in a press statement, signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.

According to the statement, dry season farmers are also allowed to visit and water their farms during the free movement period.

“His Excellency further assures the residents of the affected areas, that his administration will soon provide food items through the state palliative Committee to assist the needy during the period”

“Already, the State Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tella, has been directed by the Governor to move to Azare, Headquarters of Katagum local government to coordinate a response that will accelerate contact tracing and mass testing. The Governor further calls on citizens to adhere strictly to protocols against the dreaded virus”, the statement read.
