Sky News founder Rupert Murdoch has married for the fifth time at the age of 93.

The media mogul wedded Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist, on Sunda at Moraga, his vineyard and estate in California.

The couple allegedly met at a party hosted by one of his ex-wives, Chinese-born entrepreneur Wendi Deng.

Ms Zhukova had previously been married to Russian oil billionaire Alexander Zhukov.

The former 21st Century Fox and News Corp chairman who called off his engagement to former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith just in 2023, divorced his fourth wife Jerry Hall in August 2022.

He was also previously married to entrepreneur Wendi Deng, whom he was married to for 14 years until their divorce in 2014. They have two daughters together.

Mr Murdoch second wife was Anna Murdoch Mann, a Scottish journalist with whom he had three children, in 1999.

His first wife was Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant whom he has a daughter with. They divorced in 1966.

Rupert Murdoch began his media career in Australia in the 1950s. He expanded into the UK in 1969 with the purchase of the News of the World and The Sun. He later acquired US publications, including the New York Post and Wall Street Journal. In 1996, he launched Fox News, which became the most-watched TV news channel in the US. Through News Corp, founded in 2013, Murdoch owns hundreds of media outlets globally.

Last September, Mr Murdoch announced he was stepping back from the leading role in his media empire – making his son Lachlan the sole chair of both Fox and News Corp
