he Christian Association of Nigeria, South West chapter has flayed the Federal Government for denting the image of its leader, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, over the use of his private jet to procure arms from South Africa.

The Christian body in a statement by its chairman, Archbishop Magnus Adeyemi Atilade in Osogbo, Osun State, said that the National Security Adviser, and Defence Minister should explain what they knew about the deal, resulting in the seizure of $9.3milion arms funds by the South African Government.

CAN said the incident was a set-up because Oritsejafor whose jet was hired for the arms purchase was neither a government official, nor had control of the jet when it had been leased for whatever purpose.

It said, “Dasuki and Gwarzo should be questioned and they should provide urgent answers to this national embarrassment to Nigerians”.
