8-Year-Old Math Genius Gets Educational Scholarship from Anambra First Lady

The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, has offered a full-time scholarship to Master Chukwuemeka Nwuzor, the eight-year-old mathematics genius who was captured in a viral video some time ago.

Mrs Soludo announced the award on Tuesday after meeting the boy and his family,  at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Master Chukwuemeka was seen in a video that has now gone viral, giving correct answers to different mathematical questions, including solving advanced formulas and numerical equations.

Learning that the boy in the video was from Anambra State, Nibo in Awka South Local Government Area, to be precise, Mrs Soludo immediately launched into search and soon found his family.

On invitation at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, the governor’s wife sat with the boy, his dad, and younger brother.

To be sure, she brought a calculator close and threw different questions on formulas, equations, and structures to him, to which he answered all correctly.

The governor then announced that she would sponsor the boy’s education from his present primary class to any level of his choice and also build mentorship around him to help him reach his full potential.

She noted that Chukwuemeka’s breed is rare among mankind and pledged to give him all the support that he needs to grow.

Mrs. Soludo also advised the parents not to put him under pressure by forcing him up in classes but instead allow him to walk at a pace that grows his talent better.

“The scholarship is for the child’s complete education in the best schools from primary to any level he wants to attain in life.

“This is a rare talent and I felt it was proper to encourage him to become what he wants to be in life.

“There is no doubt that Anambra is blessed with the best brains and we will continue to provide them the support system for them to realize their life ambitions.

“What is left is for the parents to provide him the needed support and not force him up in classes without the required training.

“The educational system was designed to guarantee steady and sustained growth of the child and whenever you force them up in classes, you may think you are doing them good, but invariable, you are destroying their future,” Mrs Soludo noted.
