Man commits suicide in Jigawa

Reports have it that a 30-year-old graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, in Imo State, identified as Nerus Elemamba, has committed suicide. 

It was gathered that the deceased, said to have studied Architecture at Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, was found dangling on a loop in his room on Monday, March 11, in his village, Umuohii, Obaoma community, Ezinihitte-Mbaise Local government Area of the state.

The sad incident occurred shortly after he partook in the village’s manual labour where his peers were all in attendance.

It was learnt that Elemamba was in good spirits during the village clean-up exercise and there was no signs of depression.

The incident which left residents of the village in rude shock, got many of the them trying to understand his motives as he left no suicide note.

Meanwhile, the deceased was buried on Tuesday, March 12, after the required cultural rituals to appease the land were carried out.
