Nigerian music icon 2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, have dedicated their infant son in a church ceremony.
The service took place on Thursday, February 12 and was attended by family members and a small circle of close friends.
Video clips circulating on social media showed the couple walking hand in hand toward the altar, carrying their child, as the congregation offered prayers. In another clip, they were seen dancing into the church during the Thanksgiving session.
His name was not mentioned in the reports. The dedication marked one of their first public appearances as parents since announcing his birth.
The couple welcomed their son in November 2025, months after their wedding in July 2025.
Idibia, widely known by his stage name 2Baba and also called Tuface, is known for songs including African Queen. He has children from previous relationships and was formerly married to actress Annie Idibia, with whom he shares two children.
In a recent interview on the Mic On podcast, Idibia spoke on his role as a father. He said, “I have not been the best daddy. I want to do more.”
In another public statement, he said, “I am doing my thing. I haven’t been the best daddy because, as you know, I’ve missed a whole lot of time. I’ve missed a whole lot of things. Just because I put myself out there, you know, there are so many things that I wish I could rewind and do better, but going forward, I will try to do better.
“They (my children) are good, growing amazingly. They had good heads, and I’m proud of them. There’s no already-made rule on how to do these things. You have to do your best. You have to be there to strike a balance.
You have to attend to what needs to be attended to because there’s no other way about it. There’s no two ways about it, you have to face what you need to face. Family to me is important as long as there’s love and understanding.”
The Edo state lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, has remained in the public eye since news of her relationship and subsequent marriage to the singer became known.
There was widespread speculation that the marriage of 2Baba and Natasha Osawaru was facing serious strain during her pregnancy, particularly after the singer was allegedly arrested in the United Kingdom.
The rumours claimed he was detained at Gatwick Airport following an alleged heated disagreement between the couple. However, 2Baba publicly denied that he was arrested over a domestic dispute.
In subsequent videos, he maintained that he was “perfectly okay” and appealed to the public to stop escalating private marital issues, warning that the speculation was becoming harmful and unfairly targeting his wife. He acknowledged that disagreements can occur in any relationship but insisted that the matter was being blown out of proportion.
Ultimately, the couple seems to be moving forward as they grow their family.
