216 Newly-Promoted NSCDC Officers in Anambra Charged on Discipline, Professionalism

The Anambra State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olatunde Maku, has decorated two hundred and sixteen operatives of the command, who benefited from the 2025 promotion exercise with their new ranks.

The officers were decorated during a ceremony held at the State Command Headquarters, Awka, on Wednesday.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony, Commandant Maku Olatunde, stated that the promotion is in recognition of the officers’ dedication and contributions to the Corps.

He emphasized that the promotions represent recognition of the personnel’s sacrifices, professionalism, and contributions to the Corps, and not just a change in rank or title.

Commandant Maku praised the officers for their courage and resilience in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure across the country.

ā€œI want to urge the newly promoted officers to uphold high ethical standards, lead by example, and mentor junior personnel. They should also know that the Corps demands greater accountability and leadership as they assume their new responsibilities,ā€ Maku said.

He expressed confidence that the officers’ renewed zeal and enhanced capacity would enable the Corps to continue making significant strides in the discharge of its mandates.

The Commandant extended sincere gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his exceptional leadership and steadfast support to the Corps, noting that the Minister’s initiatives have greatly enhanced the overall welfare, morale, and capabilities of NSCDC personnel across the country.

He also appreciated the Commandant-General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for championing a merit-based approach to promotions, investing in advanced training, and cultivating a strong culture of professionalism within the NSCDC.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, DCC Oni Simeon thanked God for their elevation and conveyed sincere gratitude to the NSCDC management for the recognition.

She assured that the officers would recommit themselves to their duties, upholding the principles of integrity, service excellence, and loyalty to the nation.

The ceremony also featured words of advice from invited guests, which centred on leadership, integrity, and the responsibilities accompanying promotion.

Among those promoted and decorated to the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) are Area Commander in charge of Area E Aguata, DCC Simeon Oni; Head of Anti Fraud Unit, DCC Blessing Agu; Head of Planning, Research and Statistics department, DCC Nnenna Kalu; and DCC Ebere Nwufor, Head of Anti Human Trafficking Unit.

Among those promoted to Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) areĀ  the Divisional Officer in Onitsha North, ACC Anaekwe Chinyere and Nwankwo Chikwado of Admin department.

Among the officers promoted from the rank of Superintendent of Corps (SC) to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) are Queen Nweke, Njikoka Local Government Divisional Officer; Emmanuel Nwaneri, of the Training Department; Nweze Anthony, NSCDC Unit Commander, Government House Awka; Ikenna Nwokedi, Head of Special Duty Unit; and Agu Chidiebere, Divisional Officer of Aguata LGA, among others.
