Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged Rivers State residents to fully support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Wike made the call during a meeting in Port Harcourt with supporters of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and youth leaders aligned with the governor.
The minister said supporting Tinubu’s second-term bid would position Rivers State to benefit from key political appointments, improved infrastructure and greater influence at the national level.
According to him, maintaining a strong relationship with the Federal Government would help preserve Rivers State’s political relevance and strengthen its position in the country.
Wike urged party loyalists, youth groups and community leaders to put past disagreements aside, forgive previous mistakes and unite behind Tinubu.

“Politics is about figuring out where the state stands to gain the most power. Tinubu is the only thing I wish to hear in this state,” he said.
He added that Rivers could secure more political appointments if it emerged among the states with the highest number of votes for Tinubu in the 2027 election.
“If we continue to act the way we are now, and if we are among the first three states to receive the most votes, we will get more of these positions,” Wike said.
