2027: Presidency Ridicules NDC Website, Says Party Has Nothing to Offer Nigerians

Presidential aide on communications and strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a swipe at the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring that, like the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the party lacks any concrete plan or vision for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a statement, the presidential aide said he visited the NDC’s website twice in recent days out of curiosity, searching for the party’s manifesto and policy direction following the reported movement of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the platform after allegedly abandoning the ADC.

According to him, every attempt to download the party’s manifesto ended with the response: “No document found.”

He said the development raised serious concerns about the credibility of the NDC’s claim of offering Nigerians an ideological alternative to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Onanuga also took aim at former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, who he noted had recently declared that the NDC would wage an ideological battle in 2027.

He argued that despite being registered since February, the party had failed to upload any substantive manifesto, relying instead on what he described as “six policy nuggets” that read more like vague platitudes than a coherent governance blueprint.

“The nuggets don’t read like pillars. They sound more like the platitudes Peter Obi has bombarded the nation with in the last six years,” the statement read.

The presidential aide further described the NDC as a camp for the politically displaced and desperate, while challenging the party’s leadership to clearly articulate its mission and vision for Nigeria before seeking public support ahead of the next general election.
