2027: Obi and Northern Bloc Could Trigger Political Reset— Udenta

A frontline political scientist and public affairs analyst, Prof. Udenta Udenta, has said that the continued stay of Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, despite what he described as overreaching tendencies, suggests that President Bola Tinubu has effectively normalised the situation within his administration.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, monitored by The News Chronicle, Udenta argued that Wike’s conduct and political style in office raise serious questions about ministerial boundaries and executive oversight. He insisted that the development reflects wider concerns about governance discipline under the current administration.

The professor also delivered a broader critique of the Tinubu-led government, describing it as a “total failure” in key areas of national leadership and policy delivery.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Udenta further suggested that a possible political alignment between Labour Party’s Peter Obi and certain northern political forces could become a defining moment for national restructuring.

According to him, such an arrangement, if it materialises and succeeds at the polls, could significantly reshape Nigeria’s governance trajectory.
