2027: Miyetti Allah Issues Fresh Threat to Withdraw Support for APC

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural organisation, has warned that it may withdraw its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections if its National President, Bello Bodejo, is not released from the custody of the State Security Service (SSS).

The group made its position known on Wednesday during a press conference held at Bodejo’s residence in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Fulani leaders from different parts of the country attended the meeting.

Speaking at the event, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the organisation, Akhajo Abubakar, said the group would support political leaders who demonstrated a genuine commitment to the welfare and development of the Fulani community.

“We did not vote for APC to arrest our leaders. Our votes this time will go to those who want our progress,” Abubakar said.

He also claimed that Fulani voters in Nasarawa State numbered more than one million, although he did not provide evidence or official figures to support the claim.

Bodejo is currently facing a money-laundering case, while a court had earlier reduced the bail conditions attached to the case.

The group’s warning comes ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the organisation signalling that its political support could depend on how the government handles Bodejo’s detention.

The development could further intensify pressure on the government over the continued detention of the Miyetti Allah leader as political groups begin positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
