2027: Kano Govt Rallies APC for Total Electoral Sweep

—

The Kano State Government has declared its determination to ensure the All Progressives Congress (APC) records a landslide victory across all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.

Governor Abba Yusuf made the declaration during an interactive meeting with elected and appointed government officials, reaffirming the state’s readiness to deliver overwhelming support for the ruling party and President Bola Tinubu.

According to a statement released on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, Yusuf said Kano would take the lead in producing massive votes for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

He described the president’s second-term ambition as a shared responsibility that must be embraced by every party member and government official.

The governor directed all political appointees who are yet to register with the APC to do so without delay, stressing that every elected and appointed office holder must openly identify with the party and work towards strengthening its structures ahead of the polls.

Yusuf maintained that his administration remains focused on securing victory for the APC in the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.

As part of efforts to encourage political office holders, the governor approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants.

He also sanctioned the payment of N100,000 to each beneficiary.

Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Falgore, said the APC had every reason to celebrate and promote Tinubu’s achievements in Kano, adding that constituency projects backed by the governor had further boosted public acceptance of the party.

The Kano APC Chairman, Umar Doguwa, also expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.

The meeting ended with participants unanimously passing a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, while pledging to intensify grassroots mobilisation to secure the APC’s success in the next general elections.
