2027: I Don’t See Tinubu Winning Any State in Nigeria— Dalung

Former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, describing him as the most unserious contender in the race.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Seun Okinbaloye monitored by The News Chronicle, Dalung argued that the President has become disconnected from the realities facing Nigerians and is relying on what he described as an inflated perception of public support.

“I don’t see Tinubu as serious as you are presenting him.

“President Tinubu in 2027 is the most unserious person with all his strategies because he is underestimating the political backlash building within his party. He has been shielded for so long that he now lives in a world of his own, sustained by manufactured support on social media.” Dalung added.

The former minister further claimed that Tinubu’s popularity across the country has dwindled, insisting that the President’s support base is far below what his allies project.

“If I am being sincere, Tinubu’s support is not up to 14 per cent in Nigeria. Look across the states, where exactly will Tinubu win? I don’t see any,” he stated.

Dalung also predicted a fierce contest in Lagos State, Tinubu’s political stronghold, saying the state would become a major battleground involving the APC, ADC, PDP and other opposition forces.

“Lagos is going to be a battle zone. Tinubu was defeated there in 2023, and he will suffer an even worse defeat in 2027,” he said.

According to Dalung, worsening insecurity, economic hardship and growing public frustration pose serious political threats to the President’s re-election bid.

“Tinubu does not learn lessons. If he did, he would have realised that allowing insecurity, hunger and frustration to fester is the quickest way for a politician to dig his own political grave,” he added.
