2027: Allow Me Focus On My Current Mandate, I’m Not Interested In Running For Senate- Gov Sule

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has urged those campaigning for him to run as Senator to desist from such act.

The governor made this known on Thursday January 9 while playing host to a delegation of traditional rulers and prominent stakeholders from Akwanga LGA who paid him a New Year homage in Lafia the state capital.

Addressing the gathering, Sule who stressed his commitment in ensuring that the next two years of his administration remain the best, frowned at any form of distraction.

I have been focusing my attention that by the grace of God, the next two years will be the best years ever for our administration. We are doing our best to do that.

But you know we can’t do that if we are distracted by campaigns. If you see anybody campaigning for A. A. Sule as a senator, the person is doing it on his own. I have not told anybody that I am interested in going for Senate.

“My attention is on my two years. I’m trying to spend more time on these two years. Anybody campaigning for something they are doing it on their own. If that is the case, I can not join these earlier campaigns even if I am interested in something like that.

While pleading with those who have begun mobilizing for him to run as Senator of the Northern Senatorial District in the state to focus more on the work that will enable him focus more on governance, Sule maintained that early campaigns were least important to him.

“Always, what I say about anyone giving the opportunity of leadership from our zone is that it is not just for you. It is for the whole zone. Because when you do well, it’s the zone that looks good. If you do not do well, it is the zone that looks bad.” He added.
