Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has assured residents that 2026 will be driven by stronger security architecture, accelerated infrastructure delivery and policies that put the people at the heart of governance.
The governor made this known in his New Year message to the people of the state on Thursday in Lokoja, striking a hopeful tone as the calendar turned.
Ododo applauded Kogites for standing firm like a rock amid the storms of the past year, noting that their resilience helped his administration record notable strides in security, education, healthcare and citizen empowerment.
According to him, these achievements were not by chance but the harvest of discipline, shared vision and the collective support of the people.
He said “the New Year brings renewed hope, stronger resolve for better governance, policies boosting citizens’ welfare, and the state’s economy.
“We will deepen collaboration with security agencies and community stakeholders to keep our state safe and peaceful.”
The governor stressed that development cannot take root in an atmosphere of fear, insisting that peace and security remain the soil in which progress grows. He therefore called on residents to continue embracing unity, diligence and patriotism, while shunning divisive tendencies.
Ododo also reiterated his resolve to govern with integrity, transparency and compassion, while aligning Kogi State with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the national level.
He added, “With God on our side and the support of our people, the New Year will be one of shared prosperity and greater accomplishments.”
