RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, who substituted for the injured Pedri in the 8th minute, scored Spain’s first goal in the 50th minute with an assist from Yamal Lamine.
In the final minute of regular time, Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz equalized, giving German fans a moment of hope. However, Mikel Merino shattered Germany’s dreams with a goal in the 119th minute during extra time.
Spain will now face the winner of the Portugal vs. France match, which has just begun.
