2023: Oborevwori praises self, says he has done well

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed appreciation to Local Government Council Chairmen in the state for their contributions to sustainable peace and development of the state. 

Governor Oborevwori made the commendation when he received on Christmas and New Year visit, the State Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, led by Hon. Victor Ebonka at Government House, Asaba.

The Governor said that his administration had in the last seven months kept his campaign promises to the people of the state, assuring that the year ahead would be better than the former.

Governor Oborevwori said: “I am happy receiving you here today on Christmas visit and I want to appreciate you all for coming and for all the good works you are doing in your various local government areas.

“As I have always said in my MORE Agenda, we cannot enhance peace and security if your local government is not peaceful. I know that by the grace of God, 2024 is going to be a more better year.

“We have done very well in year 2023 and I know that 2024 God being with us it’s going to be better for all of us as a state and country”.

Earlier, Hon. Ebonka said ALGON had come to felicitate with the Governor on Christmas and New year and to thank him for his visionary leadership style and support for Councils in the state.

He said it was on record that throughout the Governor’s tenure as Speaker, no Council Chairman was summoned to the House of Assembly.

He also appreciated the Governor for recalling the Chairman of Ndokwa East, Hon. Juan Governor from suspension.

In a related development, Governor Oborevwori also played host to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor and members of the House.
