2023 AFCON: NFF announces the replacement of Wilfred Ndidi

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced the replacement of injured Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, slated to begin on the 10th of January 2024. 

 

Earlier in the week, Leicester City’s manager disclosed that the Nigerian had been left out from their last-day match team due to injury.

Ndidi will be replaced by Alhassan Yusuf, who plays for Belgian side Royal Antwerp. This season, the 23-year-old has registered 2 assists in his 15 caps for Royal Antwerp.

Furthermore, Kelechi Iheanacho who is doubtful to travel with the team is still being examined and is hopeful to join the squad according to NFF.
