The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, also known as NAHCON, gave a special gift to Hajara Ibrahim Dan’azumi.
She won a big competition about the Quran in Jordan. The competition was from February 17 to 22, 2024.
Hajara comes from Gombe State. She won the top prize in the 18th Hashemite Jordan International Qur’anic Competition for Females.
This competition happens every year and is organized by the Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places of Jordan.
Hajara is just 19 years old. She studies at Abubakar Siddiq Community Islamic School in Gombe.
She is also studying Botany at Gombe State University. In the competition, she represented Nigeria in the 60 Hizb with Tajwid category.
She got 99.5% and became the first-place winner. There were contestants from 39 other countries.
The chairman of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Arabi, sent a nice message to the Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya.
This happened through the Assistant Director of Public Affairs in the commission. It was announced on Friday. Malam Jalal Arabi was happy about Hajara’s amazing performance.
Malam Arabi couldn’t be there himself, so his Personal Assistant, Usman Nuraini, went to a special party hosted by the state government in Gombe on Thursday. At the party, it was said that Hajara will get a seat for the Hajj in 2024. This is a big honor.
The statement also said that Malam Arabi likes to reward hard work. He thinks it’s important to recognize people who do good things. He believes it will encourage others to do the same.
At the party, Governor Yahaya gave Hajara a gift of N5 million. He also offered to pay for her education from her degree to her Ph.D. He gave another N5 million to her Islamic school to help it do better and train students effectively.
