12 dead, 28 injured in Zaria-Kano Expressway crash

—

The head officer in charge of safety on the roads in Kaduna State, Kabir Nadabo, said that 12 people died and 28 were hurt in a crash on the road between Zaria and Kano. This happened at a place called Tashar Yari village at 7:36 in the morning on Monday.

The big truck involved in the crash was going to Kano when the bad thing happened. Nadabo said that the reason for the crash was that the driver tried to pass another vehicle in the wrong way, was going too fast, and had too much stuff on the truck, which led to many people dying.

The person in charge of the local government and the officer in charge of the area where the crash happened were there to see what happened.

After looking into the crash, they found out that 40 people were involved, 28 got hurt, and 12 died. The injured people were taken to a hospital in Makarfi for more help.

The owner of the truck, who lives in Azare, Bauchi State, was told to come to the Kaduna Sector Command, and they said the driver of the truck was one of the people who died.

Nadabo said that this crash could have been stopped if people drove more safely, so they are going to keep talking to people who drive for a living to remind them to drive safely and not do dangerous things like going too fast, carrying too much stuff, or using their phones while driving.

He asked people who drive to be careful, especially when they are on the big roads.
