Exactly 67 days after the abduction of over 200 school girls from Chibok Government College, Borno State, the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group yesterday rebuked their critics for making the Chibok girls mere pawns of their soulless political game.
The former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, made this disclosure while restating the group’s commitment to pressurising the federal government and security agencies to ensure the girls are brought back safe and alive.
The group said they would against all odds continue to scream from the rooftops despite attempts to shut down their voices.
Still engaging the thousands of followers and members of the BBOG group on twitter, Ezekwesili said they would stop their campaign only when the abducted girls are brought back alive. Tweeting from her handle @obyezeks she said: “Oh that those who should #BringBackOurGirls would quit making our daughters of Nigeria mere pawns in their soulless political game. Stop!
“Imagine if Chibok incident had happened in United States and the people call on President Barack Obama to bring back the girls and Obama tells them to direct their protest to Al Qaeda.
“Sadly, those who should #BringBackOurGirls are angered by the clarion call, preferring our silence that failed the girls in the first place. “Are you one of those who now think it is fruitless to keep tweeting for the rescue of our #ChibokGirls? It is not! Oh that those who should #BringBackOurGirls can actually feel the pain of their parents and be merciful.” Ezekwesili also said: “The real friend of government is the #BBOG advocacy group. We are the ones that believe the government can do it. Can any of you very objective minds out there help me understand why our FG would spend so much effort on destroying #BringBackOurGirls?
“I wish the energy they waste in trying to shut down and discredit the wholly citizens-driven @BBOG Nigeria was devoted to rescuing our girls. For the umpteenth time, I urge our federal government to deploy all its time and resources to #BringBackOurGirls. It is the quickest way to end our advocacy.
“What are we demanding? #BringBackOurGirls now and alive! When shall we stop? #UntilOurGirlsAreBackAndAlive! now and alive! When shall we
