Osita Iheme became a household name after playing the mischievous character Pawpaw in the 2002 comedy film Aki na Ukwa alongside Chinedu Ikedieze. The movie helped establish both actors as Nollywood stars.

His nickname became closely associated with the character he played in Aki na Ukwa. Today, many fans recognise him by that name rather than his real name, Osita Iheme.

Years after his early films were released, clips featuring his facial expressions and comic reactions became popular memes and stickers on social media, introducing him to a new generation of fans.

Iheme studied Computer Science at Lagos State University. His educational background offers a different perspective on the actor many people primarily associate with comedy.

In 2007, Iheme received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Africa Movie Academy Awards, recognising his contribution to African cinema.

Early in his career, Iheme was frequently cast as a mischievous child because of his distinctive physical appearance and comic delivery. He later took on more mature roles, demonstrating that his acting was not limited to one character type.

In 2011, Iheme received the Nigerian national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), recognising his contributions beyond individual film performances.

His partnership with Chinedu Ikedieze became one of Nollywood’s best-known comic duos. Their on-screen chemistry helped make films such as Aki na Ukwa memorable to audiences across Africa.

Iheme is also credited as the author of Inspired 101, an inspirational book. This provides an angle for exploring his interests and activities outside acting.

The circulation of his old movie clips as memes brought his performances back into public conversation years after their original release. His experience illustrates how social media can give older films and actors renewed visibility.
