1 Dead As Federal Workers Going For Compulsory IPPIS Registration Are Involved In Acciden

—

A group of 20 government employees, on a compulsory verification journey related to the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) enrollment, encountered a horrifying mishap in Gombe on Tuesday during their travel from Maiduguri, Borno State, to Abuja.

While the precise circumstances of the incident remain somewhat obscure, it has been established that one person tragically lost their life in the unfortunate event.

The accident took place as they were en route from Maiduguri to the nation’s capital.

The Nigerian Government recently issued a directive necessitating the participation of all civil servants and staff from central ministries in the ongoing IPPIS registration drive, with the objective of ensuring precise data collection.

This directive impacted around 17,000 federal civil servants hailing from various regions of the country, all required to journey to Abuja for registration.

A distressed survivor of the accident conveyed, “We have lost at least one of our colleagues in a fatal accident during their journey from Maiduguri to Abuja for the mandatory IPPIS registration exercise, with the incident occurring in Gombe. This is an extremely sorrowful situation, but I will keep you informed as we receive additional information.”

The affected civil servants are also grappling with salary payment delays, adding to their worries and challenges throughout this registration process.
