After the Abuja Federal High Court, ruled that the Bamanga Tukur faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is the only duly elected National Executive Committee of the party; the Abubakar Baraje led faction of party has said, that they will appeal the judgment of the court and continue to use the party’s symbols.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze; the group said it would make sure the  issue is followed to a logical conclusion, including going to the Supreme Court if necessary, to ensure that “a non-member of our party does not continue to lord it over us as our National Chairman.”

The faction noted the Tukur-led PDP is not yet out of the woods and urged Alhaji Tukur and his loyalists not to celebrate yet stating that: “any such celebration would be short-lived as we are more than ever determined to show him the way out of the exalted position he is illegally occupying.”

Chukwuemeka Eze also noted that: “We meanwhile insist that we have every right to continue using the PDP flag, symbol and colours; as we are bonafide members of the party and thus entitled to use them.”
